Priya’s played her most recent match for India-A Women against Australia-A Women in Mackay, Australia on August 18, 2024. Legspinner Priya Mishra, playing her first match of the tour, led with a five-wicket haul to bowl Australia A out for 72 as India won their first match of the series.
Priya Mishra bio and family
Priya Mishra is a young and upcoming Indian cricketer who was born on June 4, 2004, and currently just 20-years-old. Her father Sandeep Mishra works as an electrician in the Metro Railway. Priya and her family are originally from Prayagraj village, in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. However, they moved to Karol Bagh in Delhi when she was young and spent most of her childhood there. Growing up as a kid, she always had an interest in playing cricket and played with boys in her locality.

Priya Mishra mainly plays as a right arm leg-break when bowling and a right-handed batter when batting.
Career and stats
Despite developing an early interest in cricket, Priya Mishra herself always thought cricket was a men’s game. In fact, she had no idea that women’s cricket even existed. When she was 15 years old, a teacher from her school, called Pooja Chandra, introduced her into proper cricket coaching. Within a year, she managed to make in into the Delhi U19 team, following which she got selected for the U23 team.
Priya initially started out her career as a medium-pacer, but made the switch to a leg-spinner after her coach encouraged her to try it. She gained prominence after the Gujarat Giants made a successful bid for her worth 20 lakhs after an initial price of 10 lakhs. As such, she now plays as a part of the Gujarat team in the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL). Priya Mishra was also the leading wicket-taker during the 2023/24 Women’s Senior One Day Trophy. She managed an impressive 23 wickets in just eight matches, averaging 9.86 and 5 wickets in 4 games.
